Vintage Halloween Images

Three free vintage halloween images photos savingmorethanme.com

If you’ve been in a retail store lately, you’ve probably noticed that Halloween and Christmas items are out on the shelves already. How’d that happen? It’s like I blinked and it was August/September! Anyway, if you’re a crafter or scrapbooker you’re probably on the hunt for some unique images you can use in your projects.

I found four vintage postcard images that you can print out or use digitally. All three images were created circa 1910 {about the time postcards were increasing in popularity}.

If you scroll past the images, you will also find a few Halloween quotes and sayings. Pair one of the images below with one of the quotes for a cute party invitation or decoration.

May Jack-o-lanterns burning bright
Of soft and golden hue
Pierce through the future’s veil and show
What fate now holds for you.

‘Tis now the very witching time of night,
When churchyards yawn and hell itself breathes out
Contagion to this world.

Three little ghostesses
Sitting on postesses,
Eating buttered toastesses,
Greasing their fistesses,
Up to their wristesses,
Oh, what beastesses
To make such feastesses!
– Anonymous

Will you join us on the Eve
When Jack-o’-lanterns flare?
Ghosts and witches all insist
That you be there!  –Unknown

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and cauldron bubble.
- William Shakespeare

Old witch Mary, quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
With moss and slime,
and poisonous vine,
and toadstools all in a row. –Unknown

For me, the best part of Halloween is having an excuse to buy lots of candy…lots and lots of candy. I may even pass out some candy to trick or treaters ;)

What do you like about Halloween? Costumes? Candy? Parties?
