I’ve been surrounded by dogs and cats as long as I can remember. Thank goodness my parents were pet lovers because they introduced me to the unconditional love that a cat or dog can bring. I don’t remember a time when my family did not have a furry bundle of love in our home. As a matter of fact, every day after school I was greeted with limitless face licks and tail wagging from our dog. When the dog tired, the cats took over and they would often intertwine themselves in my legs and lap all while purring and meowing for my attention. What an amazing experience to come home to after a long, hard day at elementary school

Today, I am blessed with five cats and one dog, Maximus {named him after Russell Crowe’s character in Gladiator}. All are shelter pets or former strays except Maximus. Maximus was discovered at the pet store and was just so darn cute, we couldn’t pass him up. His quirky personality and love of travelling helped him fit into the family almost immediately. Maximus has visited 6 different states, gazed upon national monuments, and met representatives from our government {seriously}.

In his downtime {ours too }, we like to watch Animal Planet—especially the annual bowl game. Yes, I’m talking about The Puppy Bowl.
