Verify Your Website On Pinterest

There was a time I was not savvy about things like “CSS”, “html code”, or WordPress. Heck, I still struggle with all three but I have learned quite a bit after using WordPress.org for 2+ years. Since I know the mere mention of “cpanel” sends some bloggers running, I’m going to help you out by showing you {step by step} how to verify your website on Pinterest.

  • Log into your Pinterest account and in the drop down box, select “settings”. Scroll down to the area where it says Verify Website.

settings verify website

  • Click on Verify Website then select “Download the HTML verification file” and save it to your computer.

download html

  • Now, log into your web host’s {e.g., Hostgator, BlueHost, Liquid Web} cpanel. You can find your cpanel at http://yourdomain.com/cpanel.
  • Once you log in, you should see something similar to the picture below.

file manager

  • Click on File Manager. Make sure Web Root is selected and click Go.

  • After you select Go, your File Manager should open and look similar to the picture below.

upload

  • Select upload, and then remember that Pinterest file you saved to your computer? You need to upload that.

upload file

  • Exit out of your cpanel.
  • Wait approximately 15 minutes and return to your Pinterest account settings.
  • Select “Check here to complete the process.”

site is verified!

  • Look for that magic red check by your website name. If it doesn’t appear right away, check it again in another 30 minutes.
