It seems like just yesterday that I was living in Florida dealing with hurricanes and tropical storms several times a year. Well, now I’m living in Virginia and still dealing with hurricanes! Ha! Who would’ve thought?? Anyway, I remember how difficult it could be to keep my daughter occupied when a) she couldn’t go outside and b) when there was no power. As a result, I started keeping coloring pages, crosswords, word searches, etc., on hand to keep us both occupied. Have you ever colored with your kid by candlelight? Or by flashlight? Yes, it can be stressful but try to make it fun for the kiddos.
