You may have heard about me in posts that my mom, Kimberly, has written. My name is Bree (aka B) and I am writing this post to introduce myself to everyone. You will be seeing more of me as I will being helping my mom on her site! I am very excited to be a part of it. A lot of you may already “know” me from my mom talking about me on her site but to those of you who don’t, let me tell you some things about myself. I’m 20 years old and an only child. My mom has raised me as a single parent my whole life. She is my two parents-in one and I wouldn’t want it to be any other way! I would never be able to thank her enough for all of the sacrifices that she had to make to take care of me and give me the best childhood I could possibly have. She never wanted me to feel any different from the other kids in school. Not too long ago, in May, I took a huge step in my life and moved out. This was the first time I’d be on my own and trust me, I was nervous and excited at the same time! I wasn’t going to have my mom right down the street from me to where I could run to her if I needed help. I was going to be in Florida- four states away! It has been hard so far and I’m still getting used to it but it has definitely made me grow up a lot. I also know it’s probably not easy as a parent to have their kid(s) move out, especially when you have been together for 18+ years. My mom is STILL upset and hating it that her “little baby Bree” has moved out. She is always, oh and I mean ALWAYS, telling me to come back home. But for my mom’s birthday I came up to visit to spend some quality time with her and learn more about her site. This time together was much needed for the both of us!
Here are my reactions to just some of the posts that my mom has written about me that I came across on her site:
I love being creative and making hand-made cards for my mom on Holidays. I make them every year. They have more thought behind them and she loves them! My mom has kept everything I have made her so far since I was a kid. This is a post of the Mother’s Day card that I made her this year (2012). I love that she took the time to post this on her site!
When I found this post I laughed. I couldn’t believe she actually posted this picture of me and the chipmunk! How embarrassing! But I did love the costumed characters! I don’t know why but I always got so excited and never wanted to leave. This picture was taken during my Walt Disney World Visit in 1994, which means I was only two or three years old. I always loved the trips my mom and I would take to Disney World!
This post touched my heart. It’s about me moving out and how she feels about it. She wrote it four days before the “big” day. I knew my mom would be upset and not want me to leave. Ever since the day I told her to the day it was actually happening, she was sad, quiet, and wanted to cry. I can’t blame her though, it’s been her and I since the day I was born! I knew I was going to miss my mom and I still do, but I was ready to be out on my own and take the big step! I also loved the list that she wrote of the things that she will miss the most. Some of them made me laugh. But the last one, #11, I don’t exactly agree with. Mom, you will always be the #1 person in my life! No guy would ever be able to take your place so never think that!
