My Love For Fall: Pumpkins, Apples, Leaves, and Decorating

I love, love, love Fall! I love everything about it: the colors of the leaves, the smell of the apples, pumpkin pie baking in the oven, hayrides, cooler weather, and sweaters! Did I mention that I love Fall? It is my absolute favorite season!

When I lived in south Florida, there was no Fall and I missed it terribly. There was a running joke in Florida about the seasons or lack thereof:

  • Name the two seasons of Florida: hurricane season and tourist season.

Ha! Get it? Anyway, moving on. Now that I am in Virginia, I am back to celebrating the joys of Fall. One of the ways I celebrate is by decorating my home. I am known to collect colorful leaves and place them in a clear vase. I do the same with acorns and pine cones.

Pumpkin Love

Then there’s pumpkins—I love pumpkins! There’s nothing like the aroma or taste of pumpkin pie, baked pumpkin seeds, and pumpkin muffins! I don’t just eat them, I decorate with them too. I display real and decorative pumpkins in my home and on the patio and if I’m feeling particularly crafty, I decorate the real ones using paint and patterns. Yes, I admit, I have accumulated quite a bit of fall decorations….and Christmas decorations and yes, I need storage for everything.

Here are a few Fall decor items I accidentally discovered {which is code for I was shopping online ;)}:

Fall is my favorite season too. I love pumpkin flavored anything, getting dressed up for Halloween and seeing the leaves change color.

I enjoy the 4 seasons but Fall is by far my favorite. Some of the things I do to celebrate fall is I got Bath and Bodyworks Creamy Pumpkin handsoap. I got Febreze Noticeables Pumpkin Harvest plug ins. I made me and my honey a low carb pumpkin dessert for Halloween. I go for beautiful scenic nature walks every single day. : ) Hayrides are fun too : D

Fall is so beautiful – love your pictures! Our Fall is very short, but I still love to decorate. I put my Fall decoration outside and it promptly snowed! Sigh! Maybe if I put them out in August 🙂

I enjoyed your fall write up. I grew up in MI, got married and lived in VA for 29 years in the Roanoke valley. Talk about beautiful. The mountains and the changing colors were beautiful.. We moved to MN ABOUT 1 1/2 YEARS AGO. I REALLY MISS VA.

great fall photo! makes me a little homesick for the autumn colors of the east – and pumpkin pie, back to school, cozy sweaters, crunchy leaves underfoot, crisp sunny days, and a fire in the evening …
