{Pür Minerals} Review & #Giveaway~Win 1 of 20 Spring Kits Or An iPad2!!

I recently had the opportunity to try out four new products from Pür Minerals (part of their Spring Kick Off promotion). I have always been a fan of Pür Minerals. Not only are their items cruelty-free (no animal testing) but their products contain NO harsh chemical dyes, petroleum-based oils, fragrance or fillers. Pür Minerals contains just pure mineral pigments and nourishing actives that ALL skin types can enjoy.

For my review, I was sent the following:

  • New Pressed Mineral Blush in Polynesian Pink:  add a fresh pop of color to your spring look with our newest Pressed Mineral Blush in Polynesian Pink. This island-inspired shade gives cheeks a light, natural glow that lasts all day. As with all of our mineral makeup products, it is free of petroleum-based oil, alcohol, talc, fillers, fragrance, preservatives and chemical dyes.
  • New Limited Edition Pout Plumping Lip Gloss in Passion: give your pout a color rich pop with Pür’s limited-edition Pout Plumping Lip Gloss in Passion. This deep raspberry shade with golden shimmer infuses lips with nourishing vitamins and volumizers for a fresh, full lip look that’s never sticky or tacky. Intensely hydrating, Pur Minerals lip glosses give your lips a pout-plumping boost of hydration, with ingredients shown to increase volume by as much as 60 percent!
  • New 4-in-1 Mineral Tinted Moisturizer:  your moisturizer, primer, foundation and SPF 20 all in one! This innovative 4-in-1 formula infuses the skin with powerful hydrators and proven correctives, including sodium hyaluronate and Pür’s exclusive Ceretin Complex-a one-of-a-kind ingredient engineered to radically renew the skin without irritation. Use it alone for a one-step, ultra-natural complexion or as a hydrating, broad-spectrum base for mineral makeup application.
  • New 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation with Skincare Ingredients in your shade:  didn’t think our original 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup could get any better? Well, it has. Our newly enhanced formula has everything you love about the original 4-in-1 and more-same great coverage, same lightweight feel, same no-mess mineral makeup, but now with NEW built-in skincare ingredients, clinical results and sophisticated packaging.

My first step in trying out Pür Minerals was applying the New 4-in-1 Mineral Tinted Moisturizer. It is sheer which is nice if you only want a touch of color. The moisturizer wasn’t too greasy and it blended immediately into my skin which was nice (especially since I have oily skin). A little dab goes a long way which is nice considering the retail price of the moisturizer is $34.00. For my 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation, I selected the shade “blush medium”. The instructions state that the foundation should be applied with the Pür Minerals chisel brush however the brush is not included with the foundation. There is no applicator sponge provided either so you’ll need to use a foundation brush you have on hand or purchase the chisel brush (a pricey $23.00). I used a clean foundation brush to apply the makeup foundation. The color was a bit dark for me but the coverage it provided was fantastic. I have an uneven skin tone but you certainly could not tell once the foundation was applied. After a day of wear, the foundation did accumulate in my fine lines (yes, I have them) but that is normal with most foundations. I definitely like the fact that this is a compact mineral makeup and not a loose mineral powder. It makes application so much easier and not as messy. $27.00 may be a bit pricey but when it comes to mineral makeup, I am willing to spend around that amount—-especially when it minimizes my pores!

The new Pressed Mineral Blush in Polynesian Pink is quite frankly, a gorgeous color. You only need a little swipe to give yourself a natural blush on your cheeks. The color is long-wearing and did not fade after hours of wear (yay!). At $16, this blush is a good investment. I finished my look by applying the New Limited Edition Pout Plumping Lip Gloss in Passion. The color appears dark in the tube but when it is applied, it a shade or two lighter. The lip gloss made my lips feel tingly and I did notice a “slight plumping” of my lips. The lip gloss is not sticky like other lip glosses I have tried in the past. The color is also long-wearing and not much of the color came off on my coffee cup.

Overall, I was pleased with the Pür Minerals products I sampled. I give the four products a score of 4 out of 5.
